I'm finally back from my surgery...well sort of. I had to get behind the microphone to talk to you this morning. A nutjob tried to assassinate President Trump, the media has been fanning the flames for 8 years and now there are calls for unity.

It’s also worth noting that the assassination attempt on former President Trump, that inspired this episode was carried out by a republican.

As for the others John Wilkes Booth was a confederate sympathizer and a clear white supremacist. He was a member of the know nothing party. If these views had a modern counterpart would be most similar to extreme currents of the Alt-right. John Hinckley Jr. who attempted assonate Reagean was famously attempting the murder to impress Jodie Foster and, in my understanding, not clearly tied to a political ideology.

Guiteau was in the Republican Party with Grant (campaigned for him even), and that murder is attributed more his perceived slight at not receiving a position of power, or divine inspiration from God. He said it was an effort to unify the factions of the Republican Party.

In regards to your statement about all the assignations/attempts not being conservative and rather being left leaning folks, that’s not truly verifiable and in fact it seems more likely that at most half of those you mentioned were left leaning.

Hey just came across your podcast, I appreciate that you’re trying to do independent research about Wyoming and our politics, but it seems like your bias is leading to some factual inaccuracies (or at least disingenuous statements)
